We Did It!

me wendy betsyAfter many months of training, we finally did it.  My friends Wendy, Betsy, and I all finished the LiveStrong Austin Half Marathon!  For me and Wendy, it was our first, and thus, most significant.  Betsy had done a couple already, but a half marathon is still a half marathon any way you slice it.  This race was the whole reason the #3MomsRunning hashtag was born and continues to be used today.  I’m so proud of us for working so hard and achieving this goal!   Continue reading

It’s amazing how much things can change in the course of mere weeks.  Week before last I was sitting at my desk pondering my future.  I was unhappy in my job and looking for a way out.

Rock On

Faith No More concert Yesterday was an historic occasion.  I’m talking really big.  If you were a child of the 70s or 80s, you might know what I’m talking about.  If you’re a fan of good, old school rock-n-roll, then you’re definitely in the know.

Yesterday – November 20, 2012 – was the day that AC/DC released their entire music collection to iTunes!  I know what you’re thinking.  Big?  Yes.  Historic?  Yes!!

We’re Back!

Back by Popular Demand After a long hiatus, I’ve decided to re-launch this blog.  A few of you have asked why I quit writing.  I never really made a conscious decision to stop, but that’s the way it worked out.  But I’m here now and don’t plan on leaving again any time soon.

So, do you like the new look?  I figured a re-launch deserved a shiny new theme, so taaaa daaa!  Along with the new theme is a slightly different focus as well.  I’ll still be telling stories about my kids and their shenanigans, and I also plan to add in more about me and our family as a whole.

The Times? I Think They Have Changed: Thoughts on MLK, Jr.

Martin Luther King Believe me, things can still definitely improve.  But the times have changed.  Even just from when I was Sister and Dude’s age.

The most obvious change is the fact that we have an African-American President.  Whether you agree with his politics or not, this was a needless barrier that has now been shattered.  They told us when we were kids that anyone could grow up to be the President, and now that’s really true.  How long before we see a woman as President?  Is that even out of reach anymore?
